About Sarah

Originally from Pittsburgh,PA, I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University in 2016. I moved to Colorado in 2017 to complete my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in mindfulness-based transpersonal counseling.

My passion for healing and wellness began in my early 20s as I was navigating depression and anxiety from big life transitions. Desperate to find any way to cope, I began meditating daily and doing yoga from my apartment. This introduction into mindfulness changed my life. I learned the power of slowing down my thoughts and connecting to my inner wisdom.

Outside the therapy room, I love to crochet, attend yoga classes, read absurdly large fantasy books, and spend time with my cat Nyx.

My Approach

My approach to therapy is centered around the idea that we are all whole people made up of various parts of ourselves. We have motivated parts, anxious parts, angry parts, protective parts, inner child parts, and many others. Some of our parts feel stronger than others. Maybe you have an anxious or angry part that feels out of your control. Maybe you have a part of you that feels the need to people please, or one that is drawn to toxic relationship patterns. You might be aware of the areas of your life you would like to change, but you have certain parts that tend to make change difficult.

Using a blend of principles from mindfulness, Gestalt, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), we will work together to first understand and become aware of the various parts of you. We will work towards understanding and compassion, while also helping your parts to integrate in your system so that you can feel like the most whole version of yourself. Through building a genuine and authentic connection, together we can address the patterns that are holding you back from living a life that feels meaningful and whole.
